Narrative based music videos tend to have a storyline in the footage to follow on along with the lyrics- some viewers are able to relate with the artist singing whether it be a problem, or a happy time in life; which is why some viewers like watching these types of music videos...

I have chosen the song: Adele- Chasing pavements as it shows two people, who have recently been in a car crash, not moving, but perform and form a story when Adele sings whilst lying down on the pavement- the car crash symbolises the "crash" in these two peoples' relationship that Adele is singing about. Adele's "Chasing pavements" song is about a woman and a man, showing the story quicky of how they met, and how it ended, and how, still today, that the woman regrets whatever she had done, and still tries to get back with the man.
I would say that considering this song is more soul, I am going to say Narrative based music videos fall into the genres: Soul and Pop.
