Our music video is using the song: "Inna- The sun is up" which has a lot of sexual revelance to it as Inna (the singer), a very good looking woman, esposes a lot of flesh in her music video, and I believe it is aimed at both male and female, ages 16-20 (The age of where sex is interesting). Males aged 16-20 would be watching this type of music video as it has a good looking woman, the star of the music video in it (The heterosexual man being drawn to this)- Inna is purposely using sex appeal to gain more of a wider audience. Females aged 16-20 would be watching this type of music video as Inna would be looked up to by them as a role model for her slim tone, good looks, and fashion sense. Or an idol for her music.
I would have to say the social grouping for the song we're going to be using is C2 on the demographic scale and downwards- because the majority of its audience would still be in school, full time education or have recently started basic work in life.
The targeted audience we have already identified will also like other modern music, idols such as Lady Gaga to look up to. The uses and Gratifications theory shows that people would view our music video for a number of reasons- Entertainment is the main reason, it gives the viewer pleasure, whether that be sexual arousal for sexual pleasure, escapism (escaping from life's problems) or even relaxation; all of the audience wanting to view our music video will be doing so based on entertainment purpose.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs explain that entertainment in our lives is a need by everyone once staging through the basic needs in life, more complex needs are discovered. Music videos are entertainment for us all, and if a music video is good quality (both music and footage), the need of certain people is satisfied.
